Associate Online Marketing Manager

Flightpath, a dynamic interactive agency located in Manhattan's Flatiron District, is growing and we need a experienced, creative copywriter to join our team. The key to our success is that we don't only understand integrated, strategic, interactive solutions. We deliver solutions that work! We have helped companies such as AOL, American Express, Conde Nast, Schering Plough and Goya foods among others.

This is a full-time, on-site position in our NYC headquarters. To be considered for this position, you must provide creative, technical, or marketing writing samples.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to write consumer-oriented, search-optimized marketing copy for online publication on behalf of lawyers and law firms from around the U.S. The content developed should be targeted for the best possible online experience.

Copywriters will develop copy according to client requirements, conduct client copy reviews, edit copy in Word, and edit copy using a proprietary content management system. Writers will follow an in-house process and style guide. All content developed must comply with best practices for search engine-friendly results.

In addition to the work on law firm web sites, there may be opportunities to create copy and messaging for other clients in our broad portfolio of consumer and b2b organizations.

Required Skills:

  • B.A. English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work in publishing, marketing communications, or technical writing.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in writing content for websites. Ability to write clear, concise, professional, search-engine friendly, consumer copy for websites. Familiarity with natural search engine optimization tactics.
  • Expert in MS Word, including style, formatting, and revision-tracking tools.
  • Superior ability to identify errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, style, etc. Excellent command of American English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with difficult and demanding customers (lawyers) and understand legal content requirements.
  • Team player. Must work well with other writers, copy editors, proofreaders, SEO experts, web designers, developers, and project managers.
  • Must be able to work independently to meet established deadlines and conform to all specifications and requirements.
  • Ability to provide feedback diplomatically and accurately.
  • Ability to follow complex technical directions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of basic internet technologies such as HTML and web navigation.
  • Copyediting and/or proofreading experience.
  • Web research skills including an understanding of how to research legal practice areas, federal and state laws, and associated rules and statistics.
